People are simply dying because of hunger. And Arroyo and her minions are simply getting richer.
Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo who stole the executive leadership of the Philippines will deliver her 8th State of the Nation Address (SONA) today. And again, she will retell all her lies over and over again.
Arroyo is no longer popular. Her credibility has already been challenged. She was weight and measured but found wanting. In the first place, she has no right to deliver the address because she is not supposed to be sitting the highest seat of the Philippine republic.
I am simply tired of listening to double-talks and candy coated poison reports and promises.
She is reportedly to focus on the issue of poverty in the country. Some of the highlights of her talk will be the following (see the Inquirer report):• What her administration intends to do as she tries to extend the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program, which expires at the end of the year.
• Her unchanging position on population control. She plans to continue promoting natural family planning methods in keeping with the policy of the Catholic Church.
• Her efforts to continue pursuing peace with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front and the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army.
• The problem of corruption and her plan to ask Congress for tougher laws against it.
• Faces of some of the more successful programs in health, education, agriculture and microfinance.
• Heroes during Typhoon “Frank” (international codename: Fengshen) and other disasters.

Mon Jul 28, 08:44:00 PM PHT Here in the states we're just hoping we can get rid of George Bush without him pulling something like declaring Marshal Law to keep himself in office. Most of the strife in your country can be traced right back to him through the cost of transporting food and the warming of the planet through corporate pollution which is causing food shortages.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. It reminds me to read yours and to think of our international community.
